Klaki was founded in 1972 to satisfy a need for innovative, hygienic solutions in the seafood processing sector and processing industries. As such, the company, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, has since conception specialised in fabrication from stainless steel. 2019 marked a change in ownership and management at Klaki, with the entrance of Óskar Pétursson (CEO) and Páll Svavar Helgason (CTO). A change in emphasis ensued, as the company’s service portfolio was expanded to offer robotics solutions, industrial control systems and with the entrance of Garðar Örn Garðarsson (CTIO) in 2021, computer vision systems with machine learning software, to its clientele.

The executive team are optimistic for the future; by enhancing quality management, investing in equipment and with strategic product development, the firm is gaining solid ground in the industry, domestically and globally.
